David Hill got by Pettyjohn on the restart but it would be Derrike Hill threading his way into second on lap six. The caution was out for a third time on lap seven for a tangle in the third turn involving David Hill, Eric Vent, Bob Geiger and Scott, Jr. On the restart, Pettyjohn moved back into second behind Robinson with Derrike Hill falling to third. Ray Davis, Jr. and Donald Lingo, Jr. were both on the move and at the halfway point the top five were Robinson, Pettyjohn, Davis, Lingo and Rick Whaley. King came to a stop to bring out the yellow on lap 13 as the leader pulled off the top of the track and also rolled to a stop. Robinson was done for the night and Pettyjohn was the new leader. The next lap produced yet another caution when Jarvis and Whaley got hooked together coming off turn four. Two more yellows would bring the race down to a green-white-checkered finish. Pettyjohn was able to hold off Davis on the restart and then drove his Hitchen’s Bros, Trucking/Rocket to the win. “It’s great to be back in victory lane,” said Pettyjohn. “I had begun to wonder and had forgot what it felt like to be here.” On the final lap, Derrike Hill complete the drive of his young career getting under Davis in the final turn to record his personal best by finishing second. Davis finished in the third spot with Lingo fourth and Staci Warrington taking fifth. Heats were won by Jarvis and Lingo.
